A Collaboration With The Wow Factor

A Collaboration With The Wow Factor

Here at Africa Roofing UK, we pride ourselves on being a trusted supplier to our clients, time after time, project after project.

One client of ours who we regularly collaborate with on exciting projects is Treehouse Life.  We have featured projects that we have worked on by Treehouse Life on the blog before, but recently we were able to provide more than just the thatch tiles for one of their adventurous structures.

The client for Treehouse Life wanted a large family treehouse with wraparound decks, rope bridge and slide amongst other things. To complete the project with a flourish, Director of Treehouse Life Paul Cameron approached us here at Africa Roofing UK to provide the roof.

Collaborating for Success

The design of the treehouses Paul creates are hexagonal, but for this project he required a circular cone roof that would sit on top of the structure.

That’s where Africa Roofing UK stepped in. Not only can we provide DIY thatcher’s kits for clients to complete themselves, we also provide full roofing kits and can be erected by our team of skilled fitters. Just like with Treehouse Life, we will work closely with you to ensure your project has the right look.

Together, we have designed a system that allows a seamless blend of the body of the treehouse and the roof to create a perfect finish, and truly provide the wow-factor to the overall look of the treehouse.

Delivery and Installation

The roof was installed in one day, allowing the team to keep to schedule and have the whole project completed in 3.5 weeks, all whilst adhering to social distancing and maintaining a Covid-secure work environment.

An impressive timber frame was crafted by Africa Roofing UK, to sit flush on the walls of the treehouse. This was then covered and lined with plywood sub roof, which the Cape Reed thatch tiles were attached to on top using the supplied rope kits. The thatch tiles clip on to rows of 8mm polypropylene rope, to give the staggered effect.

This roof is 100% waterproof and the natural Cape Reed thatching is eco friendly, completely maintenance free and stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The perfect answer for a family garden escape, suitable for kids and grown-up kids alike!

At the same time as creating this roof for this project, we also created a second one for Treehouse Life who had designed a similar project which was shipped out to a family in Cyprus. We can’t wait to see the photos of that project come to life!
